Our Commitment Toward Dismantling Ageism

There’s a lot of talk about age these days. Aging is living. We’re all doing it.

Like all aspects of living, aging is not a one-size-fits-all experience.  “Some things [may be] lost, but something [also] is gained, living every day,” as Joni Mitchell reflects in her iconic “Both Sides Now” song.

However, when rigid stereotypes or negative views based on age seep into how we think, feel, and act towards others or ourselves – that is ageismWe find it in our workplaces, health systems, entertainment, and the media. It’s everywhere. Let’s recognize ageism and name it when we see it.
