GRANTS

RRF Grants support efforts that align with RRF’s funding interests:

  1. Improve the availability and quality of community-based and long-term services and supports
  2. Provide new and expanded opportunities for older adults to engage in meaningful roles in society
  3. Seek causes and solutions to significant problems of older adults
  4. Increase the number of professionals and paraprofessionals adequately prepared to serve the elder population
Eligibility
  • Nonprofit organizations anywhere in the United States that focus on advocacy, research, or professional education and training related to older adults are eligible.
  • Direct service requests will be considered only from organizations in these seven states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Florida.

CHICAGO-AREA PROGRAMS

Organizational Capacity Building (OCB) Program

The OCB Program supports long-term improvements in the management and governance of Chicago-area nonprofit organizations serving the elderly.

Eligibility
  • A nonprofit organization, but not a unit of government
  • Located in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, or McHenry County, Illinois
  • Dedicated to providing services and giving high priority to the elderly

Accessible Faith Program

This program supports Chicago-area houses of worship in their efforts to make accessibility improvements (e.g., construction of restrooms, ramps, platform lifts, and elevators) that will enable greater participation by older adults in congregation programs, services, and activities.

  • Awards up to 50 percent of a project’s total cost, with a maximum grant amount of $30,000.
Eligibility

The faith-based congregation must be:

  • A nonprofit organization that owns the facility where improvements will be made
  • Located in these six Illinois counties: Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, and McHenry Counties
  • Offering programs beyond worship services that benefit older adults (age 65 or older)
  • Committed to following the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility standards, the Illinois accessibility code, and any relevant local municipal accessibility codes.
  • Able to demonstrate financial need and the ability to raise sufficient additional funds for project completion.
